When I’m on a food styling job, everyday is a mental, physical, and artistic endeavor. I love my craft because it combines all of those skills.
Collaborating with clients — from photographers and art directors to editors and authors — is what I relish. We are all working toward the same goal, and my job is to ensure that we achieve it, whether we’re on location, in a home kitchen, or at a studio.
I welcome challenging assignments. Operate out of a motor home to compose an outdoor camping shot? Source unusual and exotic ingredients for exacting clients? Create a lyrical sculpture of cereal in a spoon? I have honed my skills and broadened my knowledge from such experiences.
My food styling career started over 20 years ago in Los Angeles, where I was born and raised, and then it migrated to the Bay Area where I now reside. I’ll style food where ever it takes me.
My time at home in Pacifica, California, is typically filled with tinkering in the kitchen, a bit of surfing and rock climbing, and walking Busta, our black lab mutt.
